Tetsuo Saito burst onto the folk rock scene in 1970, quickly gaining a reputation as the Singing Philosopher for his literary and existential songwriting that dealt with the struggles of everyday life. Following two singles for URC and an album with legendary experimental folk collective Tokedashita Garasu Bako, Saito released his acclaimed solo debut in 1972, backed by close friends like Keiichi Suzuki (Hachimitsu Pie, Moonriders) and Hiro Yanagida (Apryl Fool, Food Brain).
